Who are we?


Fundación Vida Plena is a private, non profit organization, legalized by Guatemalan Government on May 19th, 2009, dedicated to enhancing the lives of indidividuals with Down Syndrom and other intellectual disabilities and their families.



Our Mission.


Is to improve the lives of people with Down Syndrom and other intellectual disabilities in Retalhuleu and the South West part of Guatemala, children and adults, to set their own goals, make their own choices and achieve their full potential, promoting growth and inclusion in the community.

Our Vision


Being a leader a service organization to assure the human rights of people with intellectual disabilities in Retalhuleuand the South West part of Guatemala, optimizing our services, promoting and executing develepmontal strategies to improve their lifes through their lifetime.

Programs.

  • Educational programs for children, young adults and adults with intelectual discapicities (communication,  social behaviour, cognitive delevopment, personal autonomy,  sport, arts. 
  • To promote and facilitate annual medical exams by helping to offer care at a reduced price.
  • Workshops: bakery, cooking, and gardening.
  • Awarenessraising amongst the general public about people with a intellectual discapacity. Capacity training for teachers, health care professionals, university students, and the Department of Retalhuleu.


Funds.


Fundación Vida Plena is a registered charity organization that does not recieve any government support. We rely solely on our ability to raise funds through a variety of events and initiatives, and on the generosity of donors, sponsors and volunteers. Please consider making a commitment to help our projects, develop new programs and services to fulfill our mission.

We need volunteers to support on diverse activities! From volunteers we only ask their dedication of ideas, time and energy.
